Desktop and deskside recycling means office or home convenience at a low price

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Desktop recycling bins are becoming more and more popular in modern offices for their convenience of use and the ease in which they allow recycling as a habit and not a chore. If your office has recycling but workers are reluctant or forgetful about it at times, then desktop recycling is made for your situation.

The importance of setting up and implement a recycling program in the office environment today is huge. Unfortunately, placing a few larger containers throughout the office is not as effective as it once was, when everyone used a central copy machine. Today, with desktop computers and now laptops being the norm, a lot of office workers print from their desk and most folks work with a desktop printer.

In that situation, paper that should be recycled might end up in the wastebasket. For a very cheap price (just a few dollars per desk) you can make sure that most paper thrown away in your office gets recycled as it should be. At a cost $4 to $9 you can have a recycling container at each employees desk or workstation.

There is a great advantage when recycling becomes simple ordinary procedure. Desktop recycling stations fit onto ordinary wastebaskets so sorting items is easy. Also, desktop recycling meets the recycling goals that many companies are putting forth today, as well as instilling a sense of pride in your workers.

But desktop and deskside recycle bins are not just for the office. As home recycling methods they excel because they simply fit right along with your desktop printer. For home or office desktop recycling is the way of the future, and is a huge money-saver over having to buy too many large recycling units.

With desktop recycling you can have many small units and just one central location where they are dumped when full. No one will complain about the simplicity and ease of these remarkable and cheap little recycling units.

Mini Waste Hanging Wastebasket Review

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

The addition of a Mini Waste Hanging Wastebasket to a deskside recycling program can be an invaluable aid in really getting your employees (or your family) thinking about how they recycle. For a cost that is less than $5 per unit you can add terrific functionality and real ease-of-use to your deskside recycling system.

The Mini Waste Hanging Wastebasket comes with a capacity of 7 quarts and is designed to operate on the rim of a larger recycling bin (for instance a standard 28 quart wastebasket model) where it hooks easily. It is perfect for sorting waste materials.

For instance, if your office uses a ton of paper which goes into the larger bin you can use the smaller Mini Waste Hanging Wastebasket for aluminum like soda cans. If you are at home and the opposite is true, then you place paper in the smaller bin. This way your recycling is already sorted—plus it helps people keep an eye on what they are throwing away and how much, often causing them to waste less.

The Mini Waste Hanging Wastebasket comes in two standard colors, blue and black, to either fit or stand-out against your larger wastebasket according to your preference. It is also made with post-consumer recycled content. For such a low price you can really jump-start smart recycling in your office or home deskside recycling program.

Desktop and deskside recycling bins for the office

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Desktop recycling bins are the ultimate in office convince for your workers. The need to set up and implement a recycling program in the office today is huge. If you manage or work in an office environment then you are aware of the amount of paper generated in one small office.

You can just barely imagine how much paper a larger office uses on a daily basis. The numbers are astronomical. When a business office wants to recycle the paper they would normally throw away. There are several steps, which must be implemented in order to make the transition of throwing paper in the desktop recycle bin rather than the trash can.

The business will want to make the recycle as easy on their employees as possible, so in order to accomplish this they will strategically place recycle bins in locations to prevent their employees in making any extra steps to find a bin. They may wish to use desktop recycle boxes for standard sized paper in order to keep it simple.

At a cost of only a few dollars each, every employee would be able to have one at their work station or a separate mini waste basket, which can be suspended from the normal wastebasket or sitting beside the wastebasket. Usually these boxes will resemble a tray or you can use a folder to place paper in meant for the recycle bin.

If the paper to be recycled at each desk is not just the standard size paper, but includes forms, computer paper, note pads along with standard sized letterhead, copier paper, etc. At a cost $4 to $9 you can have a recycling container at each desk or workstation. The cost of the container will be made up for the savings in time, and increase recycling.

In many large offices the copy machine and the printer is in a central location in order for several people to share the printer rather than each employee have one of each at his or her desk. So a large recycle bin will place at the location of these machines. This will also give your employees a central location to empty their own personal desktop recycle bins or wastebaskets.

As a business to start a recycle program in your company you will need to contact the site manager or the contractor of the cleaning crew. You want them to be aware of the recycle bins on the desktops and other locations, so everything doesn’t end up in the trash bin.

Teaching your children to recycle using recycling bin tags

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

children recycling

If you want your kids to be environmentally responsible when they grow up, you’ve got to teach them to recycle while they’re still young. Fortunately, teaching kids the value of recycling can be lots of fun.

A good way to start getting your kids involved in recycling is by designating a day of the week where the family can get together and organize recyclable items.

Before you begin this, children should first recognize the need for recycling on a global level. Make sure your children understand that all the trash in the world winds up in the ground if people do not recycle. Help them to remember the environment pays for everything we purchase and then throw away.

Then you can spend some time focusing your child’s attention on the here and now, the right here right in front you present situation along our highways and back roads. Point out the trash along the roadway.

Help your children to realize that changing the world begins with changing oneself which leads to improving the health of mother earth in your own town, in your own back yard. This philosophy empowers children giving them a sense of self control and self-worth as well as giving them a sense of community responsibility.

They don’t feel so helpless anymore when they hear they can do something about complaints people make concerning the present environmental issues facing humanity today.

Show your youngster the different kinds of common materials that can be recycled such as plastics, aluminum, and steel. Put a tag or tape an index card to different recycling bins each slightly different and each to represent the three kind of common recyclable materials. Use different colors on the tags (or use different color bins).

Then start collecting different items you find around the house that need to be recycled such as empty water bottles. If the “red” container is plastic start putting all the plastic materials in there. Show them that the soda cans belong in the “green” aluminum container and so on.

Keep it fun and encourage them to do the same throughout the week, immediately depositing their soda cans inside the “green” container every time they have finished drinking. This will teach them to start recycling throughout the week but should be continued with weekly lessons about recycling.
